REGARDE - VIDEO CREATION

REGARDE - VIDEO CREATION

Through this first video creation, Project Parsifal highlights an arts dialogue inspired by the artistic universe of Aurélien Alizadeh Fard. Directed and shot in August 2020, "Regarde" is one of the many fruits of lockdown. After maturing for a long time over the past few years, Project Parsifal launched with the creation of this first video focused on one of the project's compositions: "Regarde". Through this first video creation, Project Parsifal highlights a dialogue between the arts. In a tribute to the painter Aurélien Alizadeh Fard, the project is inspired by three of his paintings as well as some of his writings in order to create its own artistic universe. The video creation is structured into two distinct parts, contrasting but linked by the bewitching choreography created by the Spanish-born dancer Laura Simarro. The dance indeed appears as a unifying art, a core around which the pictorial and musical arts gravitate. The visual creation is therefore marked by this play of oppositions, between two dancers dressed in a veil who discover each other, deny each other and contemplate each other. "Two entities, mutually the object of each other's desire." "Touch as a first sensual manifestation destroys the cold transparency of the obstacle." We thus witness the birth of one by the other with a mirror as the only umbilical cord.

30 YEARS OF THE WEIMAR TRIANGLE

30 YEARS OF THE WEIMAR TRIANGLE

Participation of Project Parsifal in the intercultural musical exchange of the 30 years of the Weimar Triangle. Organized by the Centre Français de Berlin, the 30th anniversary of the Weimar Triangle is an intercultural event aimed at celebrating the trilateral cooperation between France, Germany, and Poland. This initiative, proposed in the form of a musical and cultural exchange, brought together three musical groups from the three countries concerned over a period of ten days to create a joint musical project. The Parsifal Project took part, accompanied by a new member, Jules, on percussion. The other two groups were "Sector 5" (Germany) and the "Jazz Quartet from Bednarska School of Music" (Poland). During our stay, we were able to share many different cultural facets of the three countries, notably through a gastronomic evening where each group proposed a typical recipe from their country of origin (for our part, we presented our famous Breton and Parisian crêpes), also through exchanges about our habits, our traditions, and of course, through the musical part. The goal was to create several trinational pieces and perform them at the end of the stay on August 28, 2021 (the celebration date of the trilateral union) accompanied by a small individual performance by the three groups. Thus, gathered for nearly ten days, we were able to exchange beautiful moments of sharing both on a human and musical level, which were representative of the great friendship and respect the three countries have for each other. This invited us to come together around universal values such as music and love, which remind us that we are this great ocean of human beings capable of aligning on the same wave, although we are different drops of water, in order to create a project where origins and cultural differences are hands extended toward a solidary and prosperous future. COME - VIDEO CREATION

COME - VIDEO CREATION

Discover Project Parsifal from another angle through the video "Come" When opportunities arise, you have to know how to seize them! In May 2022, Project Parsifal – still looking for a location to shoot its next music video – received a proposal from Mains d’Œuvres, which had already hosted them for a concert earlier in the year. Their exhibition hall was available for 24 hours, making it possible to borrow it for the shoot. Perceval, Ulysse, and Jules met in Paris, accompanied by Thinlay Silva Vincent (a photography student), to give birth to what would be released the following month, exactly one year after "Regarde". Project Parsifal decided to base it on the track "Come", a piece from the Project's first EP, recorded in the studio during the 2020/2021 residency at the Maison des Ensembles. Synopsis: In this video creation, the project's musicians embark on a mystical adventure where reality and dreams intertwine. Curiosity is the starting point of a flight where moving gravity reveals an echo of distant memories that, until then, were shielded under an almost suggested veil. Perhaps you will find your own flight there?

FIRST PART AT SUNSET-SUNSIDE

FIRST PART AT SUNSET-SUNSIDE

Project Parsifal had the opportunity to play in the iconic hall of the French capital. When opportunities arise, you have to know how to seize them! It's on Facebook, via the sharing of a post by the group LOBA, that Project Parsifal finds the opportunity to apply for an opening act at the Sunset. After sending several demos as well as the video of the live performance in Berlin, Loba accepts that the group acts as their opening act. Project Parsifal then quickly organizes itself to meet the demands of the opportunity: it involves providing an hour-long program, adapted to the constraints of the venue. The group meets regularly via videoconferences, very enthusiastic about playing in this iconic hall of the capital. The night of the event, the hall is full and the concert is a success.

RESIDENCE AT MAISON DES ENSEMBLES

RESIDENCE AT MAISON DES ENSEMBLES

The Projet Parsifal was the laureate of the 2020/2021 residency organized by the Maison des Ensembles. Following a call for applications at the end of 2020, the group was selected for a nearly year-long residency at studio 21 of the Maison des Ensembles. The Maison des Ensembles is a scheme set up by the Paris City Council to support culture, with studio 21 specifically dedicated to music. It is within this studio, with the support of its sound engineers Alex and Thomas, that the Projet Parsifal took advantage of the space to rehearse and record a 3-track EP as the culmination of the residency. Despite a year marked by a pandemic we no longer name, and therefore a more complex organization of recordings, the group managed to record its EP in 2 weeks at the beginning of summer, accompanied by guest musicians invited by Perceval (harp, viola, violin, choir, saxophone...). Other opportunities also presented themselves to the group within the framework of the residency, such as the pressing of 300 CDs of the recorded EP, a concert for the Fête de la Musique in June 2021, and finally participation in the international exchange of the Weimar Triangle, a rich and extraordinary experience. In September, the Projet Parsifal was invited to record a podcast tracing the history of the group and its residency at the Maison des Ensembles, thus concluding a beautiful musical adventure.
